BCAV SOLUTIONS LTD
Client Type:Limited Company
Job Description:From September 2010 to March 2011 Robert Rosebury worked as full time employee of BCAV Solutions Ltd as the company’s only website developer and website designer.
When Robert was approached by the BCAV the company was still in its infancy with manager Jason Wright reiterating that the site would be designed and developed how Robert wanted as long as it contained the core functionality the company required to do business.
As a recent graduate from Leeds Metropolitan University Robert saw this as a perfect opportunity to show the technical PHP, MySQL and design skills he had been developing.
The initial phase was planning out the website, developing the company logo and brand. It was decided that a three column layout would be the most suitable to allow for advertisement campaigns from both BCAV and external companies.
The second phase of development was getting the raw XHTML and CSS structure of the website up and running. Therefore meaning the company would have a presence on the internet, with product images developed at the same time using Photoshop.
The third phase that was under development when the company went into voluntary liquidation was the development of a complex and bespoke Content Management System (CMS) meaning that not technical people could upload new products, alter prices and manage the whole website system. This was again being implemented by PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and AJAX script with numerous amounts of validation to try to prevent errors occurring during editing.
